I take pride in offering high quality medical care. And I cherish my personal connection with patients in all parts of my medical practice.
With that same joy and pride, I established Skin Sense Laser. My family medicine patients' questions and requests drew me to skin aesthetics. Now I enjoy finding solutions to the skin problems of all my patients at Skin Sense Laser. Using only high quality, prescription-based skin treatments from Obagi, the versatile GentleYAG laser & BOTOX Cosmetic treatments, I am excited about the personalized care I can offer you.
Education Background

* Medical Degree -- Albany Medical College.
* Residency training -- University of Rochester / Highland Hospital.

Professional Areas of Interest
My professional interests include serving Deaf patients as I am sign language skilled. I have:
* Served on national committees evaluating health services for Deaf and hard of hearing patients,
* Authored research on Deaf patients attitudes toward medical care,
* Written a bi-monthly health article in a local Deaf magazine, and
* Now serve in the National Center for Deaf Health Research, a CDC Preventive Health Research Center at the University of Rochester.
I also have an interest in health care in Bolivia, South America due to family ties there.
* I maintain professional ties in the capital, La Paz,
* Have sponsored students and residents to study there, and
* Completed research using anthropologic techniques to evaluate pediatric emergency service in La Paz. That reseach lead to two published articles.
For eight years I was at Lifetime Health/ Marion B. Folsom Center as a family physician. I now have a private practice in Fairport, NY just outside Rochester. Skin Sense Laser is a special part of Malia Family Medicine. For more information about my family medicine office and its innovations, check www.relayhealth.com/doc/DrMalia .
